In the coming weeks Lough Ennell is where it’s at for fly fishing late into the evening, with Peters and Murroughs hatching just before dark.
Fishing Report (29th of June 2011) courtesy of midlandanglers.com by Mick Flanagan.
“It was certainly another week of mixed fishing conditions, and the wind is still hanging around on our Lakes. Earlier in the week I got caught in some huge heavy showers on Ennell, while pike fishing with Barry Darby. Just look at the rain belting down on the water in one of my photos. Over the two days we had some good double figure pike on Rubber Lures, and all going well as the summer months drift in we will see some more big pike coming on line. The fish were in mint condition and really tested our equipment, some I nearly lost. As I took a call on the Mobile I rested the rod on the side of the boat, and got hit by a good pike. I caught the rod in time, and landed a beauty of 14lbs 8oz.”
As and from Today 6th July we have reports of some nice trout weighing 3 1/2lb and 4lbs been caught and also some nice sized perch, so now is the time to check out your fishing skills!
